If the patient is lying on right side of body, then this position is known as right lateral recumbent position RLR and if the patient is lying on the left side of body, then this position is called left lateral recumbent position LLR. This is the most commonly used position to treat any condition or for diagnostic purpose. In this position, the examination of pelvic region becomes easy. In dorsal recumbent position, the patient lie down on bed with knees bended and feet are flat on the surface of bed along with face looking upward.
